All heartbeats are still going here. It was a long night. So much water. But it has started receding. Hopefully tomorrow the horses will find more dry ground. A little bit of water damage in the house, but nothing huge thank goodness. Unfortunately, with no electricity and this much water, we won't be able to do rides for quite a few days. Plus I believe the staging area is still closed at the beach. Going to head there tomorrow to pick up trash and see what we have. PLEASE SHARE.... Dear drivers and bikers. Please remember that when you cut in front of a vehicle this large that's trailering up to 12,000 pounds, it cannot stop quickly. It's called inertia, a basic law of physics. I do my very best to drive as carefully and courteously as possible with my babies behind me. I ask the same of you please. I was almost run off the road a few days ago by a van that cut in front of me. My trailer started fishtailing. Thankfully, I was able to regain control. Now, during Biketoberfest, I've had numerous motorcycles pull right in front of me, where I can only see their heads above the hood of my truck. God forbid! I would have to live with that the rest of my life, even though I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing. We were completely amazed and blessed to see this female green sea turtle emerge from the ocean to lay her eggs tonight. Unfortunately, due to dune restoration, the eggs had to be relocated. Thank you, Flagler turtle patrol! The strength and determination they have to continue the species is incredible. It is with the greatest sadness that I am sharing the news of Terry Marr, my boyfriend/partner passing, on 1/4/2023. He was a kind, caring, and patient person. He was the most amazing horseman that I have ever known. He touched so many lives. Some may have heard the story of how he saved me and the business after my breast cancer diagnosis. He was my angel sent to help me when I was lost. He was my life, love, and business partner. Indians, (Terry always called himself an Indian, even though indigenous is proper), believe spirit goes back into the earth in the wind and the trees, and the land. His spirit will always be here. Ride within the wind, Terry. You have touched so many lives, and will be missed by so many.
